We had previously reported that Sprint will have their own version of the GSM Touch Diamond in CDMA flavor called the Sprint Victor, which will have a smooth, rounded back instead of the faceted jeweled back found on its globe-trotting GSM cousin. However, Howard Forums is reporting that the CDMA cousin will be thicker as well, perhaps to accommodate a slightly larger battery. Howard Forums also notes that the CDMA version is slightly more comfortable to hold, so if longer battery life and ergonomics is more important than chic styling, then the Victor is quite the winner despite the added heft. The picture below shows a comparison shot with the Victor on the bottom.

I wonder how the 02 version stacks up? It's GSM but has a different battery cover. At least I think it does...

Thought I read somewhere that this version had a slightly slower processor as well as a microSD slot...?

looks fine. I don't think it looks fat at all. also to answer the above question, the cmda sprint diamond will not have a underclocked processor. It is still going to 528mhz but the Verizon version is 400mhz. Sprint is really making me think about switching to them. Being that T-mobile will not be nationwide 3g until 2009 and Verizon seems to be taking away features on this phone. Does anyone know how good sprint's data network is? thats my only concern at this point.

I've been very impressed with Sprint's network in New York. You don't even need to turn WiFi on. I like the thinner Diamond though.

thanks Adamz. I think I am 95% moving to Sprint when the Diamond is released. I just dont have any faith t-mobile will be delivering 3g services in Pittsburgh until 1st/2nd quarter of 09. Plus, the Diamond probably will never be offered by T-mobile....
My only concern is that Sprint gets such bad reviews for the services especially dropped calls. But I am more concerned with a stable data network for push email and web surfing on the phone. Also, would you happnen to know if there is a 5gb limit which has been reported? |
