It looks like there is some good news for Nokia mobile phone owners. In the UK, at least, Just Another Mobile Phone Blog is reporting that Espoo phones will be getting a version of the BBC TV iPlayer application, which may only work while in the UK. Currently, the BBC offers its iPlayer for direct net streaming of its current TV lineup on desktops and laptops, although the service is only watchable for UK residents.
Moreover, according to Engadget Mobile, the Nokia Tube, Nokia's first touchscreen device, will be launching in the UK a month from now. On closer inspection of the device, it looks like the advantage still goes to new Windows Mobile devices. On the Engadget Mobile picture, Nokia's device does not seem to have a flush touchscreen and there is still quite a bit of the bezel beveling the edges. Current crops of Windows Mobile devices have a flush touchscreen, including the Samsung Omnia, Touch Diamond and Touch Pro from HTC, and the Palm Pro.
