Sony Ericsson to Port Panel Interface to Other Devices

Besides the stainless steel body and chic look of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, the main software differentiator for the device is the panel interface. Engadget Mobile is now saying that one of Sony Ericsson's people is hinting that the panel interface may get ported, which means that the official Sony Ericsson panel interface could be used on other devices. If it does indeed get ported, the code may need to be modified slightly as the XPERIA X1 uses a WVGA screen, which in portrait mode is slightly longer than the resolution of other VGA screens, such as those used on the Touch Diamond and Pro.
