Thanks to Google Maps Mobile, now you can get New York City (NYC) subway, bus, and train information on your mobile device. There is even a client for Windows Mobile--just point your mobile browser to m.google.com/nyc to download. According to the Google Mobile blog:
You can plan trips throughout the New York metro area, including turn-by-turn walking directions. With the My Location feature, most cell phones can automatically set the starting point for your trip, even without GPS. And satellite view and Street View (on selected devices) can show you a preview of where you're going.

The problem is, Google Maps needs an internet connection to run and there's no internets in the subway tunnels! Metro is a little better for when you're actually trying to navigate the subways.
