Post Freeware: Remove the clutter with ClearTemp

Hate getting those messages on your Windows Mobile device saying that you’re phone is low on free space? Where does it all go? Basically the CCleaner for Windows Mobile, ClearTemp clears out all the unwanted temporary files created by Windows Mobile and programs on your phone. This is really useful when it comes to temp files stored in Windows. On my Touch Diamond, which is notorious for memory loss and leaks, I was able to go from about 4MB of free space to about ~45MB of free space in Main Memory.

In addition to allowing you to delete temporary files, you can manage mail attachments, dead registry entries, clear cache from IE and Opera and delete files left behind during uninstalls. One of the features that I noticed that was very useful was the ability to create custom folders can store all temp and bloat files, so that ClearTemp can automatically erase them on a maintenance schedule that you can setup. The interface was somewhat easy to use. For the most part it is a great app and is a must-have tool if you are having problems with storage on your phone.

Thanks for providing this information. I am considering the Touch Diamond, and this one comment of yours got me curious: "On my Touch Diamond, which is notorious for memory loss and leaks". What do you mean by "memory loss and leaks"?

If you monitor your memory usage in the Task Manager or Memory Control panel, you may notice the amount of free memory get lower as you use the device. This is normally not a problem a problem since Windows Mobile will free up program memory on it's own when required.

You'll also notice that Opera and Internet Explorer cache files downloaded as parts of web pages in the device's storage memory, which can fill up very quickly. Cleartemp lets you easily delete those temporary files.
