SlingPlayer is probably one of the cooler media/multimedia applications on smartphones. Attaching the Sling Box to your entertainment center at home allows you to stream live TV with minimal setup to a connected laptop, PDA, or smartphone. Sling has promised a player for the iPhone and BlackBerry and development is well under way according to a report from Howard Chui. Furthermore, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Palm OS users can expect to see a version 2 release of SlingPlayer Mobile, which will feature an updated user interface and more screen support.
Sling is planning for VGA support soon, but I would guess that will require a fast internet connection and some processing power. The updated mobile player should also utilize the Sling user ID that was employed in the Windows version 2 player. This way, you don't have to remember the string of numbers that comprise the Sling ID that was traditionally used to setup the mobile player.
